About this session

Most founders from our communities have never sat on the investor's side of the table, and most of the people writing checks have never had to raise from a room that did not look like them. This session puts both on one stage and lets each side ask the questions it usually only asks afterward.

Who this is for

Founders preparing a raise, angels and fund managers who want better deal flow from these rooms, and anyone who believes the next generation of builders should not have to pass through gates our communities have been kept outside of.

On the table

  • What does an investor actually decide in the first four minutes, and what would change their mind in the last four?
  • Why do the same pitches clear in one room and fail in another?
  • How does a founder raise without trading away the reason they started?

You'll leave with

  • The terms that are called standard and are not, and what they cost you in five years
  • A clearer read on the other side of the table
  • A few of the people who sit there

Speaker

September 26 at Civic Hall, New York. Sessions are added to the agenda as they are confirmed.
