Hassan Shibly was born in Damascus and came to the United States at four. He graduated near the top of his class at the University at Buffalo School of Law, on a number of scholarships, and practiced at two New York firms before moving to Tampa to lead CAIR-Florida, which he ran for a decade. He founded Muslim Legal, a boutique firm built around faith-based solutions to the legal needs of American Muslims, with a practice covering FBI harassment and entrapment, profiling at borders and airports, and prisoners’ rights.
