About
Dawood Khan co-founded Gradio in 2019 with Abubakar Abid, Ali Abdalla and Ali Abid — the open-source Python library that wraps a machine learning model in a web interface anyone can use in a browser, with no front-end code. By the time Hugging Face acquired the company in December 2021, more than 300,000 demos had been built with it; the library is downloaded around 14 million times a month today. Khan joined Hugging Face in the acquisition and works there as a machine learning engineer, still building the library he started. Before Gradio he was a teaching assistant at New York University and an iOS engineer at Accenture.
