About

Dr. Tarek Aly is a psychiatrist dual board-certified in Adult (2019) and Child and Adolescent (2020) Psychiatry, with specialized training in ADHD, OCD, autism spectrum disorder, substance use and psychotherapy. He completed his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital, where he served as a chief fellow across emergency psychiatry and academic research and helped develop the hospital’s treatment manual for Problematic Interactive Media Use. He earned his MD at Ross University while simultaneously completing a Master of Public Health at Michigan State, finished residency at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in New Jersey, and founded a nonprofit delivering food to homeless residents of his native Volusia County while still an undergraduate at UCF. He takes a conservative, evidence-based approach to medication and treats better functioning as a mosaic of lifestyle change, therapy and pharmacology when appropriate, telling the parents of every young patient that he is a parent first and a doctor second.
