Omar Khawaja is VP and Field CISO at Databricks, where he works with chief information security officers on securing their organizations’ data and AI, and has spent the past year advising more than 1,900 executives on AI risk. He was chief information security officer of Highmark Health, a $26 billion health enterprise, for nine years, and before that held product management and marketing roles for Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ security portfolio, serving customers in 72 countries. He co-developed the Databricks AI Security Framework. He sits on the boards of HITRUST, the FAIR Institute and Leadership Pittsburgh, and is faculty for Carnegie Mellon University’s CISO program. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
