Sami Ahmed practices and teaches corporate law, and has spent a decade of it on cryptocurrency. At TLX Law in New York he takes companies, founders, investors and funds through formation, financings, mergers and the regulatory questions that come with crypto and AI. At the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, his alma mater, he teaches a course on blockchain and cryptocurrencies that runs from VC investing to stablecoins, NFTs, DeFi and zk-SNARKs. He got there early: his 2018 South Carolina Law Review article on how to tax cryptocurrency and robots is among the first law journal treatments of the subject, and it asked what happens to the income tax base when machines do a large share of the work. He is a graduate of Yale Law School, where he was a Comments Editor of the Yale Law Journal, and clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
