Sara Yassi

Sara Yassi is a 2026–27 Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow and a senior strategist working across international policy, diplomacy and global convenings, including the G20, G7 and UN General Assembly. She has previously worked with organisations including the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Open Society Foundations, with experience spanning Africa, the Middle East and the United States. A British-Algerian writer and strategist, her work is grounded in Pan-Africanism and explores culture as a form of diplomacy, political power and collective memory. She was a Writer-in-Residence at the Africa Institute and has a background in film, television and music, including work at Sony Music. Her current interests centre on African cultural movements, Muslim representation, and the role of media and the arts in shaping global narratives.
