Ex-SpaceX, ex-NASA, ex-U.S. Space Force. Now building the materials that fly to space.
About
Humna Khan founded ASTRO in 2020 to close a gap she kept running into: there was no independent way to qualify a 3D printed part for flight. It now serves more than 115 space companies, every major aerospace prime and several government agencies, was built without outside capital, and from a new 20,000 square foot Los Angeles facility carries a component from design through build, qualification and delivery under one roof. She is also chief technical officer at Hyphene Labs, which converts industrial and agricultural waste into graphene, and chief innovation advisor at The Honourable Merchants Group. Before ASTRO she was COO and partner at MIMO Technik, served with U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command qualifying flight-critical hardware, and was Director of Quality Engineering at SpaceX across Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy and Dragon, part of the team that landed the first reusable booster. She began her career at NASA on the Mars rovers, the Columbia Accident Investigation Board and the Shuttle's final flights.
