50°C AND ZERO GRAVITY

One builds for leaving Earth. One builds for staying. Both are building for survival.

Saturday, September 261:20 PM – 2:05 PMMamdanistan

About this session

The most ambitious money in technology is pointed at orbit, while cities across the Muslim world are already reaching summers the human body was not built for. One founder on this stage left NASA and SpaceX to build the lab that qualifies 3D printed metal before it flies. The other started in Abu Dhabi, where the air reaches 50°C, using AI to map heat at the height where people actually walk. One builds for leaving and the other for staying. Both work where a wrong measurement costs lives, and each holds half of an answer the other needs.

Who this is for

Engineers, founders and investors deciding whether their next decade goes to software or to the physical world, and anyone from a city that is getting hotter.

On the table

  • Is building for space an escape from stewardship of the earth, or part of it?
  • If the ummah could fund one frontier this decade, orbit or the street, which should it be?
  • What does spaceflight get right about failure that climate technology gets wrong?

You'll leave with

  • A position on where your own skills and capital belong, argued from both sides
  • The testing discipline of spaceflight, translated for anyone building things that cannot fail
  • A way to hold stewardship and reach as one obligation, not two
