Jawad Mourabet studied at MIT and worked at McKinsey before leaving to open a pickleball club. Velto, which he co-founded and runs, is 14,000 square feet and four regulation courts in Red Hook, Brooklyn, built around open play packs rather than the membership model most premium clubs default to. It is also the venue for the Friday night social that opens Habibi Tech Weekend.
