About
Mikaeel Ahmed Smith grew up in a devout Christian home in Buffalo and became Muslim at eighteen, after reading the Qur’an and the autobiography of Malcolm X. He memorized the Qur’an at Dar ul-Uloom al-Madania, continued his studies at Jami’a Abu Noor in Damascus, and took a degree in Islamic studies at Dar ul-Uloom Canada. He teaches tafsir, seerah, aqeedah and hadith at Qalam Seminary, and wrote With the Heart in Mind, on the moral and emotional intelligence of the Prophet. At Miraj Collective he coaches professionals and community leaders.
