Panel
Authenticity & the Algorithm: Reaching Millions While Keeping It Real
About this session
Entering 2027, a personal brand is how a Muslim voice reaches millions, and the feed has opinions about which voices get there. It pays for the hook, the hot take and the fight, and it pays most when Muslims fight each other. Everyone advises being authentic. Anyone who has built a name in public knows the moment when the real version of them and the version that performs started to drift apart.
This panel is about that tension. Some controversy is the price of honesty, because a true word has never been popular. Some arrives uninvited, because being visibly Muslim is enough to start it. And some is manufactured, dressed as sincere advice and built for the share button. The panelists have built audiences, taken public stands, been pulled into fights they did not choose, and made decisions about what they would and would not do for reach. They talk through what worked, what it cost, and where each of them draws the line.
